Is this a Life-threatening Emergency?
If your pet is suffering from any of the symptoms of a life-threatening emergency, please follow the instructions below:
Phone: 773-516-5800
Before you Arrive:
- Please call ahead and briefly describe your pet’s symptoms.
- Keep track of time and frequency of the activity. For example: “he started vomiting at 10am, he vomited 3 times … at 10:15 am there was blood in the vomit.”
- If your pet ate something toxic, please bring the packaging, or remaining (uneaten) item.
- Please make sure you have your pet’s leash and collar, or make sure he/she is safely inside a carrier.
When You Arrive:
- Walk directly to the vestibule when you arrive to have your pet assessed and you will be directed by a team member.
- The technician who evaluates your pet will determine whether or not your pet needs to be brought in for treatment immediately.
- A member of our team will ask you to fill out a Client Registration form and triage your pet.
- You will be given instructions for next steps, and depending upon your comfort, or patient volume, we may ask you to wait in your car or an exam room.
Your Pet’s Life is Not in Danger, but he/she needs Medical Attention, and you don’t have an Appointment:
If your pet is in stable, non-critical condition, but needs to be seen by a doctor, please check in to our emergency room online from home.
After you provide a few relevant details, you’ll get an estimated visit time based on our current emergency room patient volume. This will allow you to wait at home until it’s your turn to be seen. We’ll text you when it’s time to come in and update you of any changes if your visit time is pushed back due to newly arrived patients in life-threatening condition.
Please make sure you have your pet’s leash and collar, or make sure he/she is safely inside a carrier when you arrive.
